Aviation Experience Guided Tour

Explore the Aviation Experience with this interactive guided tour. Learn about different aspects of the aviation industry, including what happens to aircraft on the ground, the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew and the advances in aircraft technology. Then discover the science behind flight and examine a real Rolls-Royce jet engine. This session is accompanied by a range of props and equipment to help make full use of the exhibition.

Explore the concept of flight in this interactive science workshop. Learn about how science is used to achieve flight. Examine the importance of airflow and aerodynamics. Discover why aircraft are designed the way they are by analysing a replica A380 aircraft and a real Rolls-Royce jet engine. Finally see the forces of flight in action.

Immerse yourself in the aviation and travel and tourism industries in this practical workshop. Discover the developments in air travel and the development of sustainable travel, examining what is being achieved by the aviation industry to reduce its carbon footprint. Then explore Emirates destinations and the importance of different types of tourism locations around the world, including the development of eco and fairtrade tourism.

Redesign, Recycle, Reduce: Making The Aviation Industry More Sustainable

Learn about how the aviation industry is reducing its carbon footprint in this interactive workshop. Look at the new strategies being adopted by the aviation industry. Then examine aircraft designs and new recyclable fuels. Finally explore jet engines and the advances they are making in sustainable travel, while examining a real life Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine up close.

Simulator Costs:   £60.00 (10 – 15 students)
£120.00 (16 – 30 students)
(Simulators are only available for Year 6 students)

Adult prices: Accompanying adults are free of charge on a 1:10 ratio. Additional adults are £3.00 per adult

Program length: 2 Hours

Student numbers: Minimum of 10 students per session.
Maximum of 30 students per session.

Aviation Experience Full Day Programme

Fully explore aviation with a full day session, made up of a Guided Tour, a Workshop, a Simulator Experience and time to explore our interactive exhibition.

  • Complete a 1 hour Guided Tour and be lead around the exhibition, acquiring a detailed overview of many different aspects of aviation.
  • Complete a 1 hour workshop of your choice (see above for more details) and fully explore a subject of your choice.
  • Pilot our simulators as part of a 1 hour Simulator Experience and gain an insight into what it would be like to fly.
  • Spend 30 minutes exploring our interactive exhibition and use our wide variety of digital learning material to further enhance your knowledge and experience.
  • Lunch is also provided as part of this programme.
