The Emirates Aviation Experience is closing its doors!

We regret to inform you that after 9 years of operation we will permanently close on Sunday 5 June 2022. If you are interested to book a flight simulator experience we advise you book soon, as we expect to be quite busy towards our closing date.

What if I'm late for my simulator session?

If you are late for your simulator session we will do our best to accommodate you on our next available simulator. Your session may need to move to a slot later in the day or be rescheduled for another date.

Can I reschedule my booking?

Bookings can be rescheduled given a 48 hours’ notice and as long as there is availability. The latest you can reschedule is Sunday 5 June 2022. If you cancel and cannot reschedule before 5 June 2022 your booking is considered void and cannot be refunded.

Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?

You cannot cancel your booking and receive a refund, however you can reschedule for a date before end of April 2022 at no extra cost if you let us know 48 hours in advance.

What is your Covid safety policy?

While we will continue to encourage our visitors and staff to wear a mask, this will no longer be mandatory. Please continue being respectful of the individual choices of others and maintain social distancing wherever possible with people outside of your group. We will continue to clean our venue and simulators regularly throughout the day with approved anti-virus grade products.

How many people can use the simulator?

Simulator sessions can be share by up to 4 adults.

What can we do if we are more than 4 people for the simulator session?

If you have additional children under the age of 9 they can join you, however they may have to sit on your lap. Additional adults in your group can wait outside the simulator and at some point rotate with the people inside the simulator. Please note that this may take some time off your flying. Another option is to book two simulators.

What is the minimum age to use the simulator?

The minimum age to use our simulators is 9. Younger children are only able to observe a session from the back. Prams are not allowed inside the simulators area and if young children are loud, we may have to ask you to step outside.

I have not flown in a simulator before, will this be a problem?

No, it will not be a problem. No previous experience is required to use our simulators. Your session will be guided by one of our instructors who will teach you everything you need to know to use the basic controls of the simulator cockpit.

Can I book the simulators for a group or private event?

You can hire all four simulators for larger groups and private events such as corporate events and birthday parties. For prices and more information visit our Private Hire webpage.

Can I use the simulator on my own?

You are welcome to fly solo on our simulators. You will sit in the pilot’s seat and navigate the simulator and your instructor will guide you through the controls and can sit next to you as the co-pilot.

How accessible are the simulators?

We regret to inform you that our accessibility lift is currently out of service. Our simulators are accessible, and our team will do their best to assist and support you during your experience, however the simulators are located on our mezzanine floor which is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Why does my simulator ticket say plus 2 adult admission tickets?

Your simulator ticket includes 2 adult admission tickets. Admission tickets are needed to enter the exhibition and everyone must have one. You can have more people with you in your session (up to 4), they will just need to purchase an admission ticket.

What is in the exhibition and how long wil I need to see it?

The Aviation Exhibition includes several interactive exhibits about commercial aviation. There is a real stripped back Rolls Royce Engine where you can see in detail how it works and interactive screens about the science of flight.

There is an Emirates Seating area where you can watch short films about the Effects of flying and Cabin Crew. We also have an actual size nosecone of the Airbus A380 where you will find the cockpit as well as a surround cinema about how airports handle our luggage.

Finally there is a section about how planes are turned around at Dubai International Airport and you can take the challenge of turning around your plane!

Do I need to print my ticket?

You don’t have to print your ticket. You can show it to our team on a mobile device. You just need to have your Booking ID, which you should receive via email soon after you book your ticket. Please check your spam folder and if you haven’t received it within 24 hours let us know.

Can I purchase an open date simulator experience?

Yes, you can buy an open date simulator experience by purchasing one of our Gift Vouchers.

How do I redeem my Gift Voucher?

On our booking webpage, first select the date of your session, then the type of simulator, the Airbus A380 or the Boeing B777, and then your time-slot.

In the Checkout, you need to type your code where it says “Redeem Gift Card”, and click Apply.

Note that the Voucher Code is different to the Booking ID created when the Voucher was bought. You cannot redeem a voucher using its order reference number.

Until when can I redeem my Gift Voucher and book my session?

All our Gift Vouchers are valid until Sunday 5 June 2022. The actual session date booked with a Gift Voucher must also be before 5 June 2022.

What controls can I use in the simulators?

Our flight simulators are exact replicas of the real Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 cockpits. Below are the functioning controls and interactive displays that you can use during your session:

  • Side-stick / Yoke for navigation
  • Throttle control for engine speed
  • Rudder pedals for steering and breaks
  • Landing gear
  • Primary Flight Display (PFD)
  • Navigation Display
  • Engine Power Display
Does the Simulator move?

Our flight simulators are fixed based, they are not full motion simulators. Our simulators are for the general public as well as experienced users who wish to try the A380 and B777 cockpits.

What will take place during my simulator session?

During your simulator session your instructor will teach you all the main controls of the cockpit and the take-off procedure. You can select from multiple airport destinations and weather conditions and start practicing your take offs.

Pilots and co-pilots have different tasks and depending on where you sit in the cockpit you will focus on different controls.

While on the air you can practice your controls adjusting your speed, altitude and angle of the aircraft. You can also practice following the flight path.

Finally your instructor will guide you through the landing process. The simulator produces a score at the end so you can also see how well you have performed your landing.

Depending on how much time you have and how many people are in your group, you can rotate so that everyone gets to fly the simulator.

Can I use my time in the simulator towards my pilot training?

Our simulators are not valid for accredited flying time towards pilot training. The simulators are for the general public as well as experienced users who wish to try the A380 and B777 cockpits and only include the main controls and displays.

How do I get to the Emirates Aviation Experience?

You can easily get here on the Jubilee Tube Line, by bus or by car from the M25. When you arrive at the Greenwich Peninsula area follow the signs to the Emirates Air Line cable car. We are right next door to the cable car’s South Terminal and 5 minutes’ walking distance from North Greenwich Tube Station and the O2. For more details visit our Visit Us webpage.
